Brainstorm of Lesson Ideas Using Your Docucam:
- Color lesson - mixing playdough to mix colors - do this under the docucam
- Paper folding under the docucam
- Freeze frame - Students do the work while the frame is frozen, then unfreeze and the answer is there for them to check their work
- Teach shapes using the annotations tool
- Dice activity - roll the dice under the docucam so the kids can see the roll
- Use the annotations to put answers to problems so that then you don't have to recopy your worksheet or master copy
- Use with your interactive white board
- Record experiments so that if it goes really well one class but fails in another, you've got the good results to show your other classes
- Record lessons for absent students to post on a website or wiki or blog or YouTube
- Use the docucam to take still photos of paper to make a digital copy of that paper (ie. student art work) to use in podcasting, slideshows, etc.
- Stop-motion animation projects - the docucam is nice and steady
- Record children for resource referral documentation
- Time-lapse photography to record things like butterflies hatching or spiders spinning a web
- Money (or any object) can be seen by every student large and clear during lessons
I enjoyed this class. I can't wait to use the camera to record my students and also lessons with it. I am excited to use the annotations that we can utilize in the recording. Thank you for all you do!
ReplyDeleteI also have the document camera in my room and I am constantly changing the cord from the computer to the document camera. Now that I have the software on my laptop I will be able to use the document camera more effectively. I really like the different types of colors that you can use with the document camera.
ReplyDeleteI learned so much more about using my document camera. I especially like the camera and movie options to display items for the class. The annotation tool will enable me to expand my teaching options.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love my document camera! It has made my life in the classroom so convenient in many ways. Wade showed me a project he made with some first graders. I’m excited to take pictures of the student’s work and then record their voice reading their story. I enjoyed the many suggestions from everyone. Thank you for so many ideas to try!
