Reflections from the "Using Your Computer to Enhance Classroom Instruction" (Mac Basics) professional development course offered by the IT department of the Canyons School District
I am so excited to learn about google translate. This will be an very valuable tool to be able to communicate with my ESL student's parents. It was very informational to learn about the uses of Google. I was able to find various tools to use in my class on the water cycle. I am also excited to learn about the reverse dictionary. I am amazed at the amount of information that is out there at our fingertips. Thank you again!
I was excited to learn more about what google search offers. I want to incorporate the theme of the class with making research a part of everything I do in the classroom and teach this attitude to my students. There is so much to learn. Thank you for the tips using wonder wheel, advanced search, reverse dictionary, and google translate.
Google is a wealth of knowledge at my fingertips! I have already used Google to find a great video on the water cycle and showed it to my first grade class. They loved it, especially the great water cycle song and the humorous characters. The translate will be a great support in communicating with my bilingual parents. I know I'll use the wonder wheel and reverse dictionary often.
I enjoyed the class on Google. I use google a lot, but was surprised at how much I didn't know about it. I appreciated all the tips and suggestions to make using Google more productive for me. I actually used google translate to composed a letter to my son who is out of the country speaking spanish. I think this tool is very beneficial in the classroom, especially for the bilingual students and parents. Lisa Rigby

Sharie Johnson There were bigger things that I learned, but often it is the little things that make the real difference! The Command F feature is one I will use often...thanks for saving me loads of time! I also appreciate knowing how to narrow my search by using and, or, not and understanding the way .com, .org, and .edu can help to focus my searches.
