Reflections from the "Using Your Computer to Enhance Classroom Instruction" (Mac Basics) professional development course offered by the IT department of the Canyons School District
My computer is so shiny and clean. I learned that it's time for me to clean up my documents also. They came up in a strange way which seems normal for me. Hopefully you will be able to tell me what I need to do to be able to view my documents so I know what to do to get rid of them.
My computer is so clean an happy now! I have loved learning more about the Mac computer. The more I learn, the less I realize that I know. I learned so much about the basic shortcuts that a Mac provides. That is good for a PC user to know! I am so excited to use the sticky note feature. I can now keep my sticky notes organized and easy to find. I need to practice more using the features that we learned about. I have found that if I don't, I easily forget how to do them. I appreciate this class. I know that I will be more confident with my computer...instead of being afraid of blowing it up or something! Thank you!
The best thing I learned about tonight was the "Stickies"....my desk at school is covered with sticky notes...now I can toss them and still have a way to keep track of all those little reminders and bits of information I want to keep at my fingertips. Thanks for having such a well organized and useful class for us each week. I'm looking forward to being able to use my laptop more effectively in my teaching. Sharie (Sharman) Johnson
This morning as I opened my computer, it looked so spotless! I was glad to learn how to clean and care for my computer. My keyboard was starting to look so dingy. My ignorance has caused me to neglect the cleanliness of my laptop. Oops! Thank you for teaching us about stickies. I've set up about six helpful notes so far. I know I will be adding many more! It was very enlightening to learn some of the differences between a Mac and a PC, since a PC is what our family has at home. I also enjoyed learning how to keep my computer clean, I was always afraid to do anything to it and now it looks much better. I will need a little more practice to know how to transfer information to a disc, jump drive, or external hard drive, but at least I have the general idea. This class is very enjoyable and helpful.
Thank you for teaching us the correct way to clean our computers. Oh how I love a clean computer. It's amazing how dirty they can get. I was interested in hearing the differences between a pc and a mac. We bought a mac for my home use and we debated on that or a pc. It was hard to shell out the extra money, but I think the mac was a good choice for us now. I also feel great relief in knowing how to back up important items so not if, but when my computer crashes, I will have what I need.
Thanks for the information. When we got our laptops you just kind of had to figure things out on your own. I always worried about ruining my computer by cleaning it with the wrong stuff. Knowing how to make the stuff on the screen bigger was great too. Could you e-mail me the document for keeping track of passwords. I wasn't registered for the class, I just came and signed the roll. This class is great for me because it taught me a lot about how I can keep my laptop running at top speed. I have never really named my flash drives but after learning about naming them I will have to go back and name each one. I loved learning about some of the shortcuts on the computer.
I loved finding out how to keep my computer clean. It was very informative. I hate it when things aren't working and I can't figure out why. I have no ideas that I could keep things so organized. I am an organization freak!! Thank you Julie McFarland
